Difficulty Score (D-Score)

The difficulty score, or D-score, is calculated from the value of the individual skills in a routine plus bonuses for certain skill connections and composition requirements. Unlike the execution score, the D-score has no upper limit under the modern open-ended Code of Points — gymnasts can increase it by including harder skills. The D-score and E-score together make up a gymnast's total score.
