Fouetté Turn

A fouetté turn is a rotational skill, borrowed from ballet, in which the gymnast whips the working leg outward and then snaps it in toward the supporting leg to power the turn. It's often performed in a series of repeated rotations and is a common element in rhythmic gymnastics floor work.
